Viral video shows BJP youth leader flashing gun at wedding | Agra News

Agra: A day after a video showed BJP MLA, Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion, partying with an assault gun and revolvers in hand, and belting out choicest of abuses, a video and some photographs of Gaurav Rajawat, a BJP’s Yuva Morcha city president of Agra, went viral on Thursday, where he is allegedly found engaged in celebratory firing from a pistol and a double-barrel rifle during a wedding procession.
The video was shot on the night of July 7 in Tundla, Firozabad district, when the wedding procession was heading towards Satkar marriage hall.
Speaking to TOI, Gaurav Rajawat said, “This is a malicious propaganda concocted by some local journalists against me to extort money and paint me in the same colour as Uttarakhand MLA [Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion]. Yes, it is true that I’m holding a double-barrel and a pistol in a video and few photographs, but I never fired. I don’t have a licensed weapon. Those arms belonged to someone else who was present in the wedding procession.”
Contrary to Rajawat’s claims, sound of bullets firing is heard in the video as he raised the weapon in the air. The TOI cannot independently verify whether the bullet was indeed fired from the pistol which Rajawat was holding.
Rajawat further said, “I going to lodge an FIR against the journalists who extorted money from me on the basis of false allegation. I have sufficient evidences to prove my innocence.”
Tundla’s SHO Gyanendra Kumar told TOI, “A probe has been initiated to verify the person seen in the video and the available photographs.”
