With a top speed of 254 mph, a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of just 2.4 seconds, and 1,200 horses under the hood, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is one of the most powerful hypercars ever built.
Its asking price of over $2 million isn’t two shabby either. However, just like every car out there, this monster of a roadster can’t be saved from a bad driver behind the wheel.
A recently released video featured YouTuber LK Horizon hopping into the passenger seat of a Vitesse and taking some runs with its owner around the UK’s Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome. Their drive starts out fine and includes some exciting footage of the car reaching speeds of up to 208 mph. However, things headed south when this pilot decided to neglect the most important part of taking a corner – braking.
The video’s owner claims that the driver didn’t quite put his foot down hard enough, and the results are disastrous. Apparently, the vehicle couldn’t make this 90-degree turn at around 100 mph. Who would’ve thought?
The result is a cringe-worthy collision with some water-filled crash barriers. Although both passengers walked away unharmed and the damages to the car are minor, this is a Bugatti we’re talking about. Replacing those broken headlights and scratched up bumper are going to cost a pretty penny. Serves him right though for treating a Vitesse like a bumper car.
