Cuttack: A girl from Chandbali area in Bhadrak district has knocked on the doors of the Crime Branch after an obscene video featuring her went viral on social media.
The victim lodged a complaint with the cyber police station of the Crime Branch and requested the officials to take measures to get the said video deleted from different websites.
Consequently the CB officials have initiated the process to block the uploaded videos from different websites.
The complainant said she used to work at a private firm in Bhubaneswar where the owner of the firm lured her with various offers and even developed physical relations with her.
“The firm owner allegedly recorded the intimate moments with the help of CCTV cameras installed at the office room. Later, he uploaded the videos on different websites and shared them through WhatsApp,” the victim said in her complaint.
“I had lodged a complaint against him at Kharvel Nagar police station a year ago and he was subsequently arrested,” the complainant added.
However, the obscene videos again appeared on social media March 20. Barely two days after the videos went viral, the charred body of the youth featured in the videos was found on Kuakhai riverbed.
Mancheswar police registered a murder case in this regard and a probe is still underway to nab the accused.
Social activist Sasmita Das and one of the friends of the victim accompanied her to the Crime Branch.
