Bemused UFC boss Dana White has launched a fresh attack on
Channel 10 host Waleed Aly after his interview on The
Project
went viral on Tuesday night.

An unimpressed White traded barbs with Aly during the
contentious segment when the polarising presenter bombarded the
American with questions about Conor McGregor and Khabib
Nurmagomedov’s recent actions.

Aly insinuated McGregor’s attack on a bus containing UFC
fighters in Brooklyn ahead UFC 223 and Nurmagomedov’s retaliatory
rampage after defeating the Irishman in UFC 229 were staged and
‘great for promotions’.

While White pushed back hard at Aly on Tuesday he couldn’t
resist having another crack at the controversial host on
Wednesday.

“I think it was stupid and ridiculous,”
White told News Limited
when asked about the interview.

“I think for anybody who would think that that was set up, that
we would take our biggest star, get him arrested and get him kicked
out of the state of New York – the guy can’t fight in the state of
New York anymore, which is the biggest gate we ever did with Conor
McGregor, which was $18 million.

“To even say something like that … you’re just trying to be an
a**hole.”

He added the interview with Aly is indicative of what happens
with ‘people who are uneducated about sport’.

White is in Australia to promote UFC Fight Night 142 in Adelaide
in December and UFC 234 in Melbourne in February.

He confirmed
Australian middleweight champion Robert Whittaker
will defend
his belt against Kelvin Gastelum at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena at
UFC 234.
