No, it’s not the newest kaiju to challenge Godzilla in wreaking havoc over a city.
It’s the name thousands of people want to give a merged North and South Dakota.
More than 3,500 people have signed an online petition to merge the two states into a brand new, much larger state: “MegaKota.”
Dillan Stewart started this petition on change.org, directed to President Donald Trump.
“I think it’d be pretty cool to have a state called MegaKota, so yeah.”
Some expressed that this move would make our country more “united.”
“How can we be called the United States if some of our states are divided in half?” Aaron Hemberger posted after signing the petition.
Others called for the unification to reach higher levels of power.
“We need this to obtain our ultimate form,” David Scheel wrote.
“MegaKota shall crush all in her path,” Jamie Jackson wrote.
Some even called attention to the deeper messages of the movement.
“We live in a society,” Henry Nahalewsky wrote.
Perhaps even more controversially, Michael Brown boldly stated: “Bc of Big Chungus.”
