At Bank’s DLR station, passengers are often treated to enthusiastic messages over the Tannoy.

The announcer belting out “let’s get ready to travel” is reminiscent of Buffer’s world famous “let’s get ready to rumble” ring entrances.

He describes the train as “weighing in at 600 tonnes of pure steel” and “undefeated, undisputed best train service in the world”.

And there were a swell of positive comments when the video went viral on social media.

Twitter user Alex wrote: “Hell yeah, giving employees a bit of self expression, bringing a smile to people’s faces. What’s not to like.”

And James added: “Brilliant….. Absolutely brilliant. Life’s too short not to laugh.”

Meanwhile, Yeshas said he is treated to the announcements frequently: “Take from Bank to home everyday and he just makes my day. He is brilliant, absolutely brilliant.”

Boxing promoter Lee Eaton even suggested: “I want to find him & get him to do one of our weigh ins. Think he would be brilliant.”

Another lucky commuter posted online: “He does it all the time, it’s such a refreshing thing, especially in the rush hours when we are all acting like robots.”

The typical humdrum of commuting in the capital is a great opportunity for creativity to blossom.

James posted online: “There’s also a guy on the Tube who’s a member of the SRT team (usually found staffing sporting events or special events, and during rush hour on super busy stations), who announces trains as if they are WWE wrestlers coming to the ring!”

Another announcer, who works at Victoria, was shown bidding a train farwell by saying: “Respect, respect, rub a dub style.”
