There were light showers ahead of the second T20I game between India and Australia at MCG and hence the temperature went down a little urging many players to take the field in their jumpers. And as the cloudy weather continued to affect the temperature, Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik was seen wearing a beanie while fielding. His picture soon became viral on the internet as social media users trolled him on Twitter.
For Karthik, his only highlight in the second T20I match was him completing the dismissal of Marcus Stoinis with a catch at deep point. Stoinis had misread the pitch as he smashed the short and wide delivery from Jasprit Bumrah which fell straight into the hands of Karthik.

Soon after the catch, his picture wearing the beanie went viral on Twitter with many trolling him for this new avatar. Here are some of the interesting tweets…
Karthik had played a crucial role in India’s failed attempt to provide the team with an early 1-0 lead in the three-match series. His 13-ball 30 alongside Rishabh Pant was India’s last hope in Brisbane opener against Australia after the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan for 76. But Stoinis’ heroics in the final over witnessed India being restricted four runs short of the mark.
Talking about the second T20I, persistent rain robbed India of a chance to equal the series at 1-1 as the game was called off by the umpires. Melbourne was visited by rain soon after Australia’s innings urging the target to be revised before the cut-off time was reached. Despite India looking all geared up to chase down the target of 139 runs in 19 overs, the rain ceased their hopes. With the loss, India’s impressive run of seven T20I series win also came to an end. With Australia leading 1-0 in the series, the contest will be decided on Sunday at the SCG in the final T20I match.
