It’s high noon…

Samantha Show makes appearance on Change Up:

The Show show continued when Samantha Show made an appearance on the show “Change Up.” Show talked about what going viral was like, when she started bat flipping and if the same culture war that’s going on in baseball right now is going on in softball.

“When I first bat flipped against Oregon,” Show said. “It did not get taken well.”

“And that was the first one that went viral. I mean there were some good things, but a lot of people didn’t like it”

Former Oklahoma State goal keeper living the dream on USWNT:

Jenni Carlson of the Oklahoman wrote a fantastic feature on USWNT goalkeeper Adrianna Franch (and former Cowgirl soccer star) and her road to the World Cup.

Adrianna Franch hung up the phone and immediately dialed it again.

She had to talk to her mom.

Only moments before, she’d gotten the news of a lifetime from U.S. national soccer team coach Jill Ellis. Franch had made the World Cup roster. From Salina, Kansas, to Oklahoma State to several professional outposts, she was going to the sport’s biggest stage.

”Hey, Mom,” Franch told her mom, “we made it!”

On the day the United States opens World Cup play against Thailand, no player repping the red, white and blue has come from a more non-traditional background than Franch. She didn’t grow up in a soccer hotbed. She didn’t play college soccer for a traditional blueblood.

And yet, many people believe this World Cup will be the first of many national team appearances for the 28-year-old Franch, the youngest of three goalkeepers on this year’s roster.

”I know how badly she wanted to be on the full national team,” longtime OSU assistant coach Karen Hancock said. “It really is a dream come true for her that she had since she was a little kid.

”I am very proud of her because she has not had an easy road to get there.” {The Oklahoman}

Coach Darr is doing well:

We’re happy to report the men’s golf assistant coach Donnie Darr is doing well after surgery to remove a tumor. He’s back on the course and caddying for Austin Eckroat at Pebble Beach.

Curtis Jones reportedly transferring to Penn State:

Curtis Jones will transfer to Penn State. He made the announcement on his Twitter account earlier this morning.

OSU could see Jones this fall if the Cowboys and Nittany Lions get matched-up in the NIT Season Tip-Off in Brooklyn.
