WYMT caught up with Floyd County’s Mason Tackett again after his news story went viral last week.
Tackett jokingly told our sister station he became “star struck” when he saw himself in the mirror. His dismay over his cousin Phillip Hagans’ alleged burglary became the highlight of the report, as he was perplexed over why he would take a cheese grater, an empty bottle of Lysol and his soap.
The viral sensation finds more value in the stolen items these days, saying he even put them in the car when he went to a gas station. People have taken pictures of the now-infamous items.
Tackett does not share much sympathy for his jailed family member, saying he believes time in jail may help him prevent committing future crimes. Hagans declined WYMT’s interview request.
