It is not a view one definitely wants to see while looking out their windows on a flight, but when passengers saw a piece of metal spinning rapidly in the walls of the engine they were left in a state of shock.
According to The Washington Post, passengers who were onboard the flight reported that there was a loud noise and then suddenly smoke started to come up into the cabin.
A passenger on the flight told the publication, “After we heard the boom, we just saw all this smoke come up into the cabin, and that’s when we really started freaking out. It started slowing down a bit. It was getting hot. The air cut off.”
They added, “I can’t get that bang and pop out of my head. It was very, very scary.”
Reportedly, the airlines even handed over food vouchers of USD 30 (Rs 2,056) to all its flyers as they waited for the next flight in Raleigh.
