WASHINGTON — The DC social worker whose video helping calm a homeless man being held at gunpoint by police is now collecting care packages for his friends.
Grace McKinnon discovered the homeless man is actually Anthony Williams, a high school student at Kingsman Academy Public Charter School in Capitol Hill.
She is teaming up with his teachers to get him housing, resources and a bank account for the more than $25,000 she first raised for him.

“I was one of those 40 kids,” said McKinnon. “No one knew I was homeless but my high school teachers would feed me. They literally saved my life and I told them when I can I’m going to give back to help other people.”
