Ten people were killed in a racist-motivated shooting at a Buffalo supermarket on Saturday at a suspicious tactical device that broadcast a live attack, law enforcement officials said at a news conference.
The shooting took place on Saturday afternoon at a store in Tops Friendly Markets. The shooter, a white man, is being held, police said.
He was identified as Payton Gendron, 18, and said he was not guilty of first-degree murder against him on Saturday night.

Thirteen were shot during the attack and 10 were killed. There were 11 blacks and two whites at the shooting, officials said.
Two people remain hospitalized in a stable condition, a CNN spokeswoman from Erie County Medical Center said.
Saturday’s Buffalo massacre was the latest mass shooting in which authorities say the suspect was motivated by hatred, including attacks on Walmart in El Paso, Texas; Pittsburgh Synagogue Tree of Life; Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston and Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.

Buffalo Supermarket Shooting Video
The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating mass shootings “as a hate crime and an act of violent racist extremism,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland.
“The Ministry of Justice is determined to conduct an in-depth and expeditious investigation into the shooting and to seek justice for the innocent victims,” the statement said.
The FBI is assisting with the investigation, Stephen Belongia, a special agent on behalf of the FBI’s Buffalo office, told a news conference.
