WE’LL see some fine acts of strength, bravery and athleticism among the weird and wonderful sports at the Winter Olympics.
And while escalator riding isn’t a discipline at the Games, it ticks all the above boxes.
Swiss skier Fabian Bosch took a break from hitting the slopes to post a video that has quickly gone viral, turning the mundane into the extraordinary.
Rather than stand on the escalator stairs in conventional fashion, Bosch decided to hang on to the outside and rely on his arm strength to rise to the next level.
Needless to say, it shouldn’t be attempted at home, or in a shopping centre, or anywhere else where you may feel the urge.
But from a spectator’s point of view, it’s great to see someone taking the potential sport of escalator riding to new heights.
