The 17-year-old winger – who reportedly turned down interest from Barcelona and Spurs to sign his first professional contract last summer – lined up for the U23’s against Sunderland yesterday.
And he wasted no time in making an impact, picking up the ball on the edge of the 18-yard box before whipping home a jaw-dropping curling effort into the bottom corner.
The video racked up more than 50,000 views in less than 24 hours after it was posted on social media site Reddit as Gunners fans hailed the latest prospect to emerge from the club’s fabled youth academy.
“The angle sure does this goal justice, what a strike,” said one viewer.
Another wrote: “How the hell he has that curve on the ball has baffled me.”
“That is a f****** beast of a finish, 99 curve,” added a third.
Arsenal finished the game 3-1 winners at Sunderland’s Eppleton academy, rising to third in the Premier League 2 Division One table.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund)
Elsewhere, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was confronted by a fan about reports that the club is set to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Frenchman could only respond with a wry smile – although BBC reporter David Ornstein claimed a deal had been agreed this weekend.
However, it is believed that the German club will only sign off on the transfer when they have lined up a replacement.
